Before looking at the price
Let me tell you the scene I often see.
A family calls me to paint their home. The walls are not ruined, but after years you can see marks, halos, dirty corners, old stains near the windows. Maybe there is also a room with some mould.
At first it seems simple: "we just need a refresh". Then, once you really enter the job, the real questions appear.
Who moves the furniture? How much does the floor need to be protected? Do we cover mould or treat it properly? Should the cuts near the ceiling be simply tidy or very refined? Does the price you were given really include the type of work you expect?
The point is not only painting. The point is aligning price, time and result before starting.
I am Valentino, the craftsman who follows MIBI work on site. Before painting your home I want to understand what result you expect, how much you want to spend and how much detail makes sense for the job. Then I explain what is needed, why it is needed and what result you can expect.
I am not the craftsman who arrives, applies two coats of paint and disappears. For me, good painting also means protecting rooms, clarity on price, respect for the home and a result consistent with the level you chose.
I personally work on sites and follow only a few jobs at a time. To keep this level of attention, I usually take about five jobs per month: I prefer saying no a little more often rather than rushing and lowering quality.
That is exactly what this page is for: first it shows you how I think about the job, then it takes you to the calculator. This way the indicative range does not come out of nowhere, and we quickly understand whether it makes sense to continue with photos or an inspection.
The real difference
The problem is not finding someone who paints. It is finding someone who helps you understand first what you are buying.
On the market you often find quick verbal prices that do not really include protection, furniture, colour breaks, mould, cuts, final cleaning and finish level. Then those things come out during the work, when you have already chosen.
I work the other way around: first I clarify level, conditions and expectations, then we talk about price. If you want to paint your home without surprises, MIBI becomes the sensible choice.
Not everyone needs the same job. Some need to refresh a flat for rent and stay within budget. Some live in that home every day and want a tidier, cleaner, more controlled result. Some notice door edges, skirting boards, cuts between wall and ceiling and want more care.
That is why the calculator has three levels: Base, Standard and Premium. They are not for show, but to align expectations and result: a basic refresh cannot be assessed like a home that needs slower, more careful finishing.
Base
Save 15%
For already prepared rooms, light colours, moved furniture and essential finishing. The work remains tidy, but with faster timing and expectations consistent with a Base service.
Standard
Recommended choice
For those who live in the home and want the right balance: protection, order, care for visible points and a result consistent with a lived-in home.
Premium
More care in details
For those who want more time spent on cuts, edges, skirting boards, doors, windows, stronger colours and more careful final finishes.
Here is a simple example. If someone chooses Base, they save money, but they need to help make the job lighter: empty or almost empty apartment, moved furniture, accessible walls, simple colours. If they want me to spend more time on details, Standard or Premium makes more sense.
This is not rigidity. It is clarity. It is respect on both sides.
Want to understand if it fits your budget?
Use the calculator and check the indicative range.
If you do not want to choose only based on the easiest promise, start from the estimate: it immediately shows price, level and real work conditions.
Another important thing: mould is not simply covered.
If there is mould on a wall, it is not enough to paint over it and pretend the problem is solved. First it must be treated with specific products. If mould is intense, the visible surface part must be removed and then a suitable treatment used.
Above all, the cause must be understood: condensation, poor air exchange, humidity, cold walls, wall issues. If a different intervention is needed instead of painting, I prefer telling you first. Explaining what makes sense and what does not is part of my work too.
Why do I ask you to calculate the range first?
Because well-done painting should not start from a random price. The calculator helps you immediately understand whether the budget you have in mind is compatible with the result you want. If the range is far from what you expected, it is better to know first: no convenient promises, no wasted time. If it fits, writing to me makes sense.
When you send me the estimate on WhatsApp, the message already includes the main details: sqm, chosen level, paint type, wall condition, furniture, property access and indicative range.
From there I ask you for 3-5 photos of the rooms. With those I can quickly understand whether the estimate is realistic or whether an inspection is needed.
Do you already see the point?
Go to the calculator and discover the indicative range.
If you are looking for work followed with method, not the usual "we will see on site", this is the right point to understand whether it makes sense to continue.
The work starts before opening the paint bucket.
In painting, the work does not start with the roller, but with how the home is prepared: furniture, coverings, walls to fix, colours, mould, timing and final order.
If a family lives in that apartment, they are not just looking for white walls. They are looking for someone they can trust, who respects the rooms, does not leave a mess everywhere and does not force the client to check every minute.
That is why I prefer telling you upfront: if a simple refresh is enough, I will not sell you unnecessary work; if the walls need more attention, I will say it clearly. Base, Standard and Premium help choose the right level, not inflate the quote.
Practical example
Refreshing one room does not cost the same as an entire apartment simply divided by square meters.
Even for a single room you need to arrive, bring tools, protect, prepare, paint, clean and restore order. That is why on small jobs the price per sqm can seem higher: logistics weigh more. On a full apartment, that time is spread better.
The same applies to property access. A convenient ground floor is not the same as a third floor without a lift or difficult access in a historic centre. It is not a detail: it affects timing, effort, loading and unloading.
The calculator also takes this into account, because a useful estimate must at least resemble reality.
You can save money by choosing the right level.
Not everyone has the same budget and not everyone needs the same finish level. The Base level exists for this: allowing those who want to contain costs to still have tidy, clear and professional work.
The important thing is to understand each other first. If you want a more essential job, that is fine. If you want more attention on cuts, edges and finishes, you need to choose a more suitable level.
In practice: if you only want to contain cost, Base is the right path. If you want more care, more control and more attention to detail, more time is needed. And time shows in craft work.
That is why the calculator has Base, Standard and Premium levels and the WhatsApp message already set up. Not to complicate things, but so that when you write to me we already have budget, expectations and work type clear.
If the range does not feel right, it is better to know immediately.
I do not chase jobs that already start with a budget too far from the requested result. Tidy painting requires protection, preparation, timing and cleaning: if that is not the kind of service you are looking for, no problem.
If the estimate is close to what you expected, write to me: with a few photos we quickly understand whether I can help and which level makes sense for the job.
Go to calculatorSulmona, Valle Peligna and nearby areas.
I work in Sulmona and throughout Valle Peligna. I can also move to nearby towns when logistics, timing and type of work are compatible.
"Thank you Valentino for your professionalism, availability, patience and also kindness. I am waiting for you for the next job."
